About

🇪🇪

Ingrid Järvi is a young artist born into a renowned family of artists/musicians. Early introduction to fine art and classical music encouraged her to create artwork from a young age, stimulating the discovery of her love of art. Living in different countries presented an abundance of opportunities, expanding creative horizon. Graduating international high school in London, Ingrid is currently following her artistic pathway at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

Ingrid’s sources of inspiration follow the stream of her thoughts, orbiting around social and environmental issues/trends. A statement from her most recent exhibition reads: “Underlying meanings interlace my body of work through a connection between family, the concept of self, and how values are unwittingly changing in modern times.”

Ingrid likes to experiment with various art forms in order to push her limits and further develop her skills. Her pillars of inspiration remain constant even when investigating new themes. Characteristic to Ingrid is her process of noticing surroundings, envisioning compositions as potential paintings; taking photos and videos whenever there are glimpses of potential artwork, exploring opportunities for symbolism, and visually pleasing juxtaposition.

Ingrid works with oil paint, as well as fulfilling her concepts through saturated mediums of coloured pencils, ink, acrylic paint, etching, textile work and digital art. Always refining her skills and concepts, Ingrid creates artwork in new media, striving to produce work to match her ambitions.
